Hi All,
The 4WD conversion is by *Quigley Manufacturing* and nothing to do with the
camper conversion people. You can take ANY ford , dodge or chevy van in to
Quigley for the conversion I believe. Price was around $7000. It's a fine
looking 4WD conversion too!
My neighbors boyfriend has the Ford diesel engined Quigley conversion, very
nice indeed, *great* motor, no silly VC joint, (just a BIG manly 4WD lever)
uh,uh,uh......
For up here in the frozen north the Quigley 4WD conversion really makes
sense. Now if the REAL Westfalia package were available on this base vehicle
*for around the same price as the Winny conversion* I know which I'd
choose...........
BTW, last time we checked the Ford (diesel) van with the Quigley conversion
was around $41k, a lot of cash, but a great looking piece of kit :-)
I like the thing, sorry to all you German vehicle patriots. Just a pity that
most of the US conversions look like they're designed in the Mattel toy
factory, and the upholstery is as soft and saggy as the rich buts that can
afford the buy into it. Even the REVCON conversion comes with disgustingly
soft and way to Laura Ashly looking upholstery and that thing makes the
Hummer look positively Japanese by comparison.
Best,
Chris Gibbs
