Michael, I am on the vanagon list. i saw this post of yours which
raised some questions that I dont want to waste the list bandwidth. I am
seriously considering doing the 5cyl conversion.
Is there a " 5 cyl conversion mail list" ? How do I join? Is Ken
Wilfy offering this as a kit? Can I get copies of the previous messages?

Hi Ken. Something that I have been thinking about ever since this topic
has
been brought up is the fuel injection. I think the best way to go is the
digifant fuel injection from a Eurovan with the 5 cylinder motor. That
would
mean the ECU and wiring harness. But what if we could retain the existing
waterboxer ECU and wire harness. The only thing different is the extra
injector. The question is can the ECU handle an extra ground for the
extra
injector, pulsing five injectors at the same time. The Eurovan intake
manifold
would have to be used for the injectors. The cold start valve would have
to be
wired the same as the old rabbits (thermo time switch receiving power
from the
start circuit and then sending power to the cold start valve at cool
temperatures). If the ECU can pulse 5 injectors, will it properly run
per O2
sensor readings. Maybe it will work.
I'm certainly interested when my engine is a goner. All the work I can
easily perform myself at work (VW dealer technician). I'll be using
probably
a nice big torquey motor from Tectonics tuning or build my own. CIS
injection
is fine but would like to stay away from it.
I love the accessory list that you have. Let my know what you think.
See
ya, Michael.

The post that you read was a fresh topic and you haven't missed much.
KENWILFY@aol.com started the topic. He's currently getting a kit together,
It'll take time though. He's very knowledgeable and he'll keep us updated
when something new arises. I'm not sure of a mail list though, sorry. Keep
your eyes open. See ya. Michael
