Subject:      Electrical Trivia number 2,glass fuses for early vanagon?

Hi folks,

        I feel like years ago I read something about glass fuses that can be used instead of the original ceramic ones.  If these are as reliable I’d be interested in a source as it is challenging for me to check the ceramic fuses without taking off the battery cable.  And in general, I would just feel better without the open metal edges so exposed. 

        If there is a correct size and fit out there for the 85 and earlier let us know. 

Maybe I imagined reading that.
