Hmmmm.... . Not my experience with State Farm at all, though I have only
dealt with them as a not at fault party with their customer at fault. They
sent an adjuster to me, not me to a body shop. The adjuster said the
damage is X amount, and "I'll cut you a check now." I said, "No, I'll take
it to 3 shops and let you know what the cost of repair is." He said,
essentially, "Here is the check, take or don't, we will not pay based on
any other estimates." I said, for him to just keep his check, and I'd get
back with them as to what it would cost and where I wanted the work done.
It took over 3 months to get it straight, but eventually I got my car fixed
at the shop I chose, and reimbursed for the rental I had to get for the 3
months. It seemed like the company thought I'd give up. Maybe a lot of
people do. I have no use for State Farm. mcneely
