Hi David,
I think it took a few minutes for the built in charger to charge the aux battery. Pump runs off battery only not AC.
Also, I changed connection to wire nuts as this would be so much easier to change in a camp ground if spare pump needed. Sometimes those little things that come up in conversation are very helpful.
