It seems like this might work for your purpose as a backup camera. It wouldn't have guidance lines and I'm not sure it has a wide angle lens, enough to see objects that might be close to the rear of the van.
Also, I see the following note in the description for the Garmin Drive App. You may need a cellular-equipped iPad.
iPhones and iPads require iOS 13.0 or later
- Wi-Fi and Cellular capability is required
- Apple only includes the GPS chipset in iPad models with Cellular
