hi Jeff,
You could adjust the position of the cable without removing the dash, it
will be tricky but it can be done. You need to remove the followings:
- instrument cluster
- ashtray
- radio
- large heater cover in front of the shifter.
you will need a short phillips screwdriver. Loosening the screw that hold
the cable, move the lever(s) one way or the other till it stops. Push the
cable in the direction that you moved the lever till you feel a slight
resistance, tighten the screw. Now test that lever both way ... good? move
one to the next lever otherwise try again... Sometimes the cable was
blocked by something and didn't move at all and you have to do a push and
pull and repeat till you're satisfied.
