Subject: CORRECTED Can I Set 14.6 volts at the Alternator?

CORRECTED 14.6 volts, not 13.6
=============================================
For the record, this batter is ODYSSEY 65-PC1750T Automotive and LTV Battery.
It is installed in the factory stock battery location with a modified
lid. (I don't think it off-gasses but I could be wrong.)
It is rated at:
950 CCA
74AH at 20 ah rate
65AH at 10 ah rate
145 Reserve Capacity in minutes
I have been looking at some Youtubes that claim that batteries almost
never meet their specs though.
I started preparing to move from DC in 2006 and am not entirely
finished moving in here in Sharon CT after living here for 4 years.
This explains my light presence online since it has been time
consuming considering all the van stuff to move around and deal with.
Apparently it takes me 15 years of effort to move from one house to
another, mostly because of all the van stuff.
=============================================
Reading the documentation for an Odyssey battery that is in my van, I
noticed that it wants to be charged at 14.6 or 14.7 volts.
So I was going to set the voltage regulator pot (from the volvo dude)
to 14.6 volts at the alternator.
But I noticed that on 12 volts with this setting the refrigerator
gets SUPER cold in one of my syncro campers (a 91). It is MUCH
colder on 12 volts than 110 volts with the is setup.
Then I wondered if such a high voltage would actually hurt anything
in the van.
I noticed that the fresh air fans sound cooked on the highest
setting, for example, but maybe they are bad already and simply need
to be replaced.
I don't mind replacing bulbs more often if that is the worst outcome.
If 14.6 volts is too high, what is a better choice for setting the
voltage higher?
Setting the higher charge voltage at the alternator maximizes the
lifespan of the Odyssey batteries so it is possible for me to turn
the voltage down and change them more often.
