Thanks for the direction on the plug / plug wires / cap. I have spares in all areas and will start there this weekend, swapping out parts.
So, no chance of the O2 either?
As for the transplant, it was done professionally by Tom Sinclair out of Preston ID, with a company 2.1l FI system, harness, idle control valve etc. We also changed out the radiator pipes. The van has ran perfect for 20k miles, since 2006. This is the first hic-up since the transplant. (I had owned a new 2.5L TDI motor, and sold/traded, shipping my van to Idaho).

That is not just an idle issue. You have a cylinder or 2 not firing. Now for that conversion did you transplant the complete 2.1l FI system including the harness with idle control valve etc. Also how did you graft the Syncro cooling system into the radiator pipes? The 2.1 or Syncro tower, manifold?
I would start by looking for a bad ignition wire, cracked distributor cap, bad injector or a valve-piston issue.

Subject: Idle Issues with my 2.1 engine
My 91 2.1L engine in my 84 Westy, stored over the winter in my heated garage, developed an idle issue.
It ran perfect all last summer, and into the fall. Last year, I added Cruise Control, and upgraded the fuel delivery adding the Bosch filter. I suspected vacuum issues due to the Cruise, so I temporally discounted and still had same issue.
Today, I removed and cleaned all electrical connectors to Mass Air Flow, and idle, checked vacuum hoses etc. Note, the plugged hose and line from the air filter has been like that since the engine was installed in 2006.
Now, once warmed up, it wants to stall when idling, seems to drive fine, however at lights, it will stall when starting up.
There are about 60k original miles on the motor.
Here is a video of the issue. https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2Fg16MY8_78qo&data=02%7C01%7C%7C33583a1e14754925834d08d7d76408f6%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637214696952199300&sdata=Fuzb2RF2kYDL%2Fb751rshO1d0KHxdyEGucgfWMPfkloQ%3D&reserved=0
Any advise is welcome!
Thanks,
