Wow Jack.  I guess you really decided to get going on your ride.  All sounds good, but I wish the pics had been on a platform that did not require a google sign in to see.  Everyone does not have one of those.  Keep up the good work.

Wanted to share what I've done to my 84 Westy, which I've owned since 87.



And give a shout to the great folks at: GoWesty, BusDepot, VanAgain, and T3
Technique. who ALL where extremely helpful in parts and advise.  (oh yeah,
and all the great posts from everyone on this list, with ideas shared, which
inspired me to do this project).



Things should be wrapped up by next weekend, and I'm looking forward to
driving it!

Vanagon Project - 84 Westy, over this winter of 2019



BODY

.          Repaired body sliding door and rear quarter after being hit last
summer

.          Repaired seam rust on driver's side above propane tank

.          Repainted door handles

.          Wheeled out all paint, and touched up nicks

.          Straightened rear bumper

.          Replaced bumper end-cap

.          Replace rear door weather seal

.          Repaired front grill mount

ELECTRONICS

.          Added Cruise Control - Audiovox CS-100

.          New LED Driving Lights under bumper, with switch inside van.

.          Added two USB w/voltage plugs (1 on Aux Battery, 1 on main)

.          Added new remote thermometer

.          New LED Light Bulbs in H4 Headlights

.          License Plate Bulb holders sand blasted and re-wired, placed in
custom digital printed casing.

DRIVETRAIN/mechanical

.          Removed and replaced Axle CV Joints with 4 OEM-GKN, lube with
Red-Line, replaced CV Boots (4).

.          Sandblasted and painted rear Axles with Epoxy Enamel

.          Pulled rear axles shafts, to clean lube and reinstall

.          Gear Shifter hard to find gears, replaced 3 bushings, shift
linkage ball to new billet receptor, replaced boots, Union and sandblasted
and treated shift rod front to rear.  Replaced worn shaft at rear, machined
to custom fit new billet receptor, replaced rear linkage boots.  Lubed front
shifter bushings, removed shifter box, cleaned and greased, reinstalled.
Cleaned shift boot, installed properly under carpet.

.          Lower Control Arm Bushings - Front - PowerFlex Polyurethane

.          Upper control Arms Sandblast and paint Front & installed 4
Lemforder OEM Bushings LEM=3652201

.          New Radial Arm Bushings - PowerFlex Polyurethane, sand blasted
and enameled arms

.          Replaced parking brake cables

.          Replaced rear heater core

.          Rerouted power steering lines

.          Fuel Delivery-pump bushings & wires grommets, secured line above
shifter shaft upgraded to large Bosch inline filter, custom mounting
bracket, and braded fuel line from tank.

.          New T3 = 25mm Anti-Sway Bar, New HD Anti-Sway Bar end links

.          Replaced leaking valve cover, gasket and clip

.          Alignment

INTERIOR

.          Arm Rest Drivers side, bored and tapped new mount, Re-attached

.          Installed new 24" flat screen TV, with custom pull-out mount &
antenna

.          Refrigerator refurbish, fixed gas pilot, repainted inside and
lower face plate, installed cooling fan behind unit, fixed insulation behind
refrig.

.          Stovetop, wheel out new finish, installed strut to hold cover
open, replaced broken stove valve stem.

.          Installed rear tool/supply holder to back of cabinet

.          Replaced sky-light with new insulated OEM model, replacing or
refinishing mounting hardware.

.          Repaired steering column cover

.          Repair latch on cabinet door under sink
