Hey man, the "Holy Grail" of Baja is Bahia De Conception. Oh yeah. Just about 30 miles south of Mulege. Warm clear water, fantastic sunrises. I went there with Mark Drillock about 6 years ago; to San Ignacio lagoon for whale watching and petting. Definitely on the top 5 Life experiences for me. Mulege has ice, water, great taco stands, gasoline....
Coyote Beach.....just type it into to Google. Bring a kayak if you've got one. It's about 35 miles south of Mulege....or so.
Baja is soooo wonderful once past Ensenada.
San Felipe? Only been there twice...kinda "meh" as the millennials say. Crummy water, crummy beach. Windy. Nothing to see. Nah.
Yep...go on the westward side of Peninsula, then over to the eastward side to the Gulf of California. Primo. South of Santa Rosalia. (Excellent bakery there; and last chance to get pesos for a while.) The guidebook I mentioned will also be helpful for finding gasoline, and knowing the distances between Pemex stations (government operated gas stations...super cheap.)
Yes..spend the $15 bucks for the book I mentioned; super duper happy!!
