These bolts are the correct length (others I've gotten were too short) and need to be torqued to 35 ft lbs (check the Bentley), which is a lot, and why you need a good tool and torque wrench to do it right.

Thanks, so much, Dennis, for the pointers on where to start- and you were right on the money…
A couple things…. I had just recently done rear wheel bearings- since I cannot remember if this is the side I took loose or not, but it is completely detached- did I only thread one bolt in? because that’s all that’s broken- 1 bolt…and it wasn’t even threaded any longer…
I disconnected the transaxle side and out came the whole axle- all 6 bolts came out but one was snapped- Do these need Loctite?
I’ll be out and about looking for hardware today- I can not believe it was something so simple- and honestly, it just must have been my hurried “slap it back together” mentality- I honestly don’t even remember how I torqued it down…
Hope everyone has as good of a Saturday as I’m having…
Dave

Of the fast with no warning failures the usual suspects are the CV joints or an axle, the clutch disc center hub, and the input to main shaft coupling. Since you are getting knocking I would look at the CV joints/axles first.

So it sounded like something “let go” power then nada and got a bit of a knocking noise when trying to get into gear.... anyone? Clutch feels fine- shift feels firm- but did a shaft break in there or something?!? Help!
