I saw the total eclipse in Atlanta in 1984. The eclipse was awesome but
one of the things I remember most is looking under trees and each spot of
light shining between the leaf shadows was crescent shaped. A beautiful
pattern that you can only see during an eclipse. So if there is a choice
between an area with trees and not, I'd choose an area with trees.
