I should have known that you be on top of things Keith. It's interesting that there are bum cables for sale. Do you get the impression that the cable liner is tight to the cable or maybe even scarred or torn somewhere in the run? Or even a manufacturing defect, little kink made in the cable before it's inserted in housing. That would be a big oversight at the factory.
Getting lube down a cable housing is a pain if you can't use one of those cable lubing attachments. It's tempting to think that more lube is the answer.
Anyway, I'm out of suggestions :-)
