John, you refer to the surface temperature of the vehicle, as perceived by your skin. Two points: 1. Human skin is incredibly sensitive to very slight temperature differences, as demonstrated by what you perceive when wading in a stream and encounter very slightly cooler water. 2. You are putting your hand on the vehicle surface, which is exposed directly to the sunlight, not in the interior, where greenhouse absorption is the main heater.
