What would happen if I first use my air compressor wand to blow out some of the dirt and dust before I spray lube the fan? My fan is dead after driving 800 miles of gravel, roads in Labrador last spring. Any thoughts?

Basically, you remove the upper grille and drill an access hole in the sheet metal on the driver's side a few inches off center. Insert spray straw and dispense a few squirts of the lube of choice. I happened to have Finish Line bike lube on hand so used that. It's held for a few years now and the Samba thread lists numerous testimonials. There is also a minor tempest raging in that thread about how fan replacement is the only true repair but if you just want to shut it up and have improved function with an unmolested dash, this works.
