Stuart, are you saying replace the gas regulator as well?
I'm filling out a parts order now.

Shops have liability issues, so just order on-line as long as your tank is good. I used a large pipe wrench for the fill valve, or you can buy or rent a big adjustable crescent wrench if you don’t want to mar the fitting.
Also use a gas rated thread dope on the threads, but don’t over-do it. Gas piping pros I’ve watched will wrap threads in Teflon tape and dope over that. Seals and lubricates.

Excellent! Thanks for the link Stuart.
I just got off the phone with a parts rep at an RV center in Longueil Que, just south montreal.
The woman said she would not replace or sell valves for a tank more than 15 years old.
I had heard about this! It's one of the big reasons I'm painting and rebuilding the thing.
I asked her if the law that dictated this was Provincial or federal. She didn't know.
But yeah, those look like the one I need.

If you haven't already replaced the rectangular regulator do that too, all the list vendors sell the correct one.

I'm going to paint it white today, then go look for an RV center to sell me a new valve and 80% (is that right?) regulator.
It's perhaps stupid to try and explain why I wanted to keep the tank shiny steel. Some of you will get it. Some will not.
