Used to be no one pumped their own gas. The gas station attendant did that, checked your oil, and cleaned your windshield. Then you paid cash.
I salute Oregon for finding something for teens/less advantaged of us to do to make some money.

I hand my keys and credit card to nobody.
I open the gas tank for them and I then insert the credit card into the pump
to authorize gas.
They pump the gas.
After they are done I put the gas cap back on.
My keys and credit card never leave my hand and that's how I like it.
