Karl,
Was looking at the NADA book - and Vanagons are no longer listed with
the common vehicles anymore. To find them - you must look under
"Classic" vehicles. That casts the Vanagons in a special light when
negotiating repair values for insurance. A clean '88 GL is worth about 7
grand - maybe a little more - on the top end, 3 grand on the bottom -
for retail - in Alabama. But that varies a bit by zip code. Further west
they would be worth more.
