But back to speakers. Yes. There are compromises etc. involved. As
have many others, I found that replacing the front OEM speakers (well
OEM in that I put in "new" panels from a Diesel Vanagon) with better
speakers was a marked increase in quality.

To my ear, these were the most natural sounding (in my price range,
locally available) speakers. I've since modified the grilles so an
OEM crank *just* clears them. Still need to address if I've blown a
speaker or if the cone bit is bumping the grill on low notes.
