I 'try' to use the back blank 'notes' pages you will find in most
workshop manuals to document any changes I make to my vehicles. I also
like to put my tire pressure adjustments, my suspension settings, the best
alignment settings I find, etc....all back in the last few blank pages they
put into most shop manuals.
Since I began learning Smart Phones I now suspect there may be an "app"
that would make documenting all this stuff 'easier' somehow. Evernote, an
app in Android systems..., that has become a tool I use more and more for
my carpentry work....
If I had time to really learn all of it's functions completely, I suspect
it could be used to track and document Vanagon mechanicals, too. It takes
pics, notes, writes stuff almost correctly when you speak into it, you can
draw with it, all kinds of useful stuff....You could probably put
everything (including the shop manual) on a small flash drive, about the
size of a fat postage stamp, and when you needed something, just slip it
into some device and get the information back, with photos and sound and
video....
But for now, I still use a Ticonderoga #2 lead pencil and my workshop
manuals....seems to work for me.
