Hi..
first thing...
check where you have bolted the linkage to the side of the trans in the
back.
That plate with a bushing in it, held to the side of the trans with two
bolts.
VW conveniently ( sarcasm ) made it so you can bolt that plate to either
side of the tab on the trans it bolts too.
if you bolt it to the aft side of the tab ..that's exactly what you'll get..
linkage can not move far enough to get 2nd.
it needs to be bolted to the forward side of that tab...that part of the
trans.
See if this doesn't just happen to be the reason for now 2nd.
