I suggested the 0 to 100 psi gauge.
On one engine I tested, oil pressure was as high as 60 psi cold, and as low
as 7 psi at hot idle.
the VDO I use ..think it's the cockpit series .
the psi range is shaped like a baseball field , with home plate at the
bottom of the gauge ..
and 50 psi is straight up.
so needle deflection ranges from, if on a clock .....10 o'clock is about 25
psi ..
2 o'clock is about 70 psi.
Works just fine.
I don't like a full circle type gauge face very much, for something like OP.
It's the Vision series I use ..
like this one .......
( though this pic is for a 0 to 80 psi gauge ....evidently they don't have
a pic of the 0 to 100 psi one ...
and, come to think of it .
as long as your oil pressure relief valve is working right ..
you'll never see over 80 psi ..
the two 1.9 wbxr engines I have tested recently for a few weeks each ..
the highest OP I ever saw cold, at say 2,000 rpm was just under 70 ..
so you could use a 0 to 80 psi gauge if you wanted.
this one,
or this style. is what I suggest. I use the red lens or bulb cover that
comes with the gauge ..
it's a neat color for a gauge like this. And it's just handy to wire the
gauge dash lighting to the power for the gauge ..that way gauge illumination
is on any time the engine is running. I just like it like that .
or it's for night stealth operations without headlights.
