You can pretty easily purchase an aftermarket glue-on mirror to dodge the AC
cabinet, but that obscures a bit of your view to the fore and lowers the
point of view out the back.
I toyed with the idea of doing that, but decided I preferred being able to
see a bit more of the road behind me from the higher sight line.
Driver's size is also a factor in this. I'm 6, 0 ". My wife is 5', 6" and
has less of a problem with the AC cab, though it's still in her field of
view.

|well eveyrone has their own opinions, for me, I like the stock westy
|layout and don't mind the rear view sightlines.
|
|and hey, guess what? that's why I am putting my '82 westy stuff in my
|86 syncro.
|
|its a pity you haven't done the mirror relocation, from your original
|reply it sounded like you had and could give practical advice about it.

|I pretty much like an open 'floor plan' in Vanagons .

|nope ..I like the open room inside, and am making it into a Faux

|that is the perfect location in terms of sight lines...

|I had an 85 Wolfsburg Weekener, and the door to that rear closet is

|I sure do like that cabinet back there in that corner, gives more
