Hey Richard,
I transported a small Vespa Moped home in my Vanagon a couple months
back. It was totally fine in the main floorspace area. The major
concerns are:
1. tiedown... There isn't much to attach it to, so I leaned it against
the back bench seat and used a tie-down and attached that to the back
engine hatch (sketchy I know). Maybe you could tie the bike to the back
seat somehow???
2. Spills and leaks - your Vespa will most likely leak oil/fuel.
ABSOLUTELY cover your bench seat with tarp and/or garbage bags, as well
as a sturdy covering on the floor such as a rubber mat to protect the
carpet. I also found that the fumes on mine (1984) were pretty bad, so
you will need to go with windows down for the drive, but that's not too
bad being how close you are.
Congrats and good luck!

Hi,
I just purchased a used Vespa LX50. It is currently 65 miles from my
home and I don't want to drive it home at that distance....it looks like
that it could fit inside my Westy...
Has anyone on the list ever transported a Vespa inside their Westy? If
so, how did it fit?
Ric
