The address of the Memorial Camp Out is 993 Main Street, Shrewsbury MA,
01545, directly opposite the SkiWard ski area _www.skiward.com_
(http://www.skiward.com) There's very limited electricity and no bathrooms, although we will
have a porta potti and four extra buses available to those who fly in or are
otherwise camper impaired. Hope to see as many people and buses as possible.
Follow Stan Wohlfarth's thread on the Samba for the latest info.

Stan and Joel
People are definitely welcome at my parent's place Saturday night. I
discussed it with them, well my mother at least, and they would in fact be
looking forward to it. Just let me have an idea of how many to expect and
we'll take it from there. As usual, limited electricity and no bath rooms,
but if there's enough interest we'll get a porta-potti. Plenty of food near
by and I've got a supply of fire wood. Glad you thought of it Joel, I was
just getting ready to make a suggestion that people gather here. I can't do
anything Friday night, as I have to work. Fell free to post this info on the
Samba, Vanagon list etc. Hope we can get a big turn out.

To all,
I'm looping Tom Brouillette in on this discussion. He might be coming up
from Philly. A Saturday evening get together might be a great idea.
I'm not sure if getting together at Dale's barn (parent's place) would be a
good idea or not. It likely depends on how Dale's father is doing
health-wise. But I'll let Dale answer that.
I could probably make room for 6 or so vehicles to camp at my place in
Wayland. We'll see what we can come up with otherwise. I do have a
portable bbq we can use for a contained campfire, and I've got plenty of
wood to burn.
If you haven't seen my latest post on the Boston Bob Samba thread, it now
seems like we may want to do a procession from the funeral home to the
church before the 1pm service. This may mean arriving in Wayland around 11am
or so. Keep an eye on this thread for more details:

Let me know via this e-mail address if you are coming and when you expect to
arrive. I'm trying to help Karen get a head count for how many VWs will be
in the procession and how much food we will need after the service. Eric
Lindskog has offered to provide pulled pork sandwiches for the reception on
Sat.

Hey guys,
This sounds like the VW gathering of the year/decade. We should capture the
spirit and this camaraderie and keep it going for a gathering Saturday
night.
Perhaps there is already something in the works to host after the
memorial services, but since some of us are coming in from far away and some
are flying in, it would be great to gather as one big family afterwards
either at a park or some place that we could have a campfire and have one
last toast to Bob.
And I don't know if this is too forward or what, but what about getting
together like at Dale's barn or somewhere similar to gather?
Thanks,
*Joel *
