We are also going to Quebec city next week and we are staying at: Camping Du Fort De La Martiniere (ph1-418-835-9060) and we will do as is suggested below and that is to park near the ferry and take the ferry to Quebec City. There is also Camping Transit near-by at 1-418-838-0948.
We are also going to Montreal and we will camp and then drive to a nearby metro station, and park and take the metro to the city. Malcolm

We found the best place was at Beaumont, just a few kms. from Levis, on the
opposite side of the river. Parking at Levis next to the ferry terminal for
$5 a day and taking the ferry across to Quebec city as foot passengers cost
very little, and was much easier than trying to find parking in the city.
Carlos.

Any suggestions? We are making a cross-continent trip and need a
place to pop the top. We think we have a place to camp (either park
or with friends/relatives) at just about every other place on our
itinerary. We want to spend a day in the city, but will have three
dogs with us that will likely stay in the Vanagon when we do city
touring (weather permitting), knowing that may very well constrain us.
I was hoping to see the Plains of Abraham, at least.
We will have a laptop but no internet wireless. I'm going to take a
list of Vanagon Rescue Squad folks and Road Haus shop recommendations,
plus a big bag of dog food.
Thanks,
Mark
