to set it up to take wider rear wheels and tires.
the first obvious thought when wanting this is to lengthen that bar that
the aft edge of the door sticks out on, so that end of the door is held
further out from the body of the van...........
BUT........there's more to it than that.
you have to modify the forward end of the track in the door, so
that........say you lengthend this bar one inch, the new 'parking spot'
for the track-following part is one inch further aft when the door is
closed.
I sorta suspect the forward end of the track is worn or damaged. And this
would be a great way to repair it there, get new material to work with, and
increase the value of the van, so it can take more exotic wheels and tires.
I also happen to have that whole part, that'd I'd sell, that goes back
there with an already lengthend bar on it.
