Oh ya. True that. I clued in after about a *year* of using my Westy that:
A. one shouldn't "knock" their boots off at the lower slider track
(yes I have a "welcome" mat now!)
B: one should clean out the tracks (3) and lube.
I used wheel bearing grease which can be messy, but helped none the less.
