I too replaced the PITA clips with #8x3/4" stainless sheet metal
screws. Just one in each flap through the fender lip. Had to when I
gave the front passenger flap a nudge to get the packed snow and ice
off it and the bloody clips fell off. They were a pain to put on in
July. Impossible in early January.
