So very true, but we're not there yet.
I always do acknowledge the advantage of diesel being able to run on
alternative, even home brewed fuel, or veggie oil.
As long as we can get gasoline though at a decent price, there's not a lot
of advantage to diesel, considering the disadvantages, and sometimes diesel
fuel around here is more than premium ! I've seen diesel at 3.85 a gallon
when regular was 3.20 a gallon, and you need to put a fuel additive in the
diesel also.
So very small fuel cost advantage really, plus 'other issues' that are
part of the deal of driving a diesel, or expenses they can have that gas
cars can't , like injection pumps leaking.
But do enjoy your diesel vanagon. I have 3 actually.

dear all ??
those questioning the sense of diesel over gasoline might ask themselves
even though diesel is seemingly more expensive than gasoline ...
what will you use when there is no more fuel station open
(think mad max) ....
the gasoline vehicle will be idle ...
the diesel will be using almost anything containing fat
yes even jersey cow milk ... the cream rich diesel alternative
yours

There are two kinds of jobs in the world:
Picking up garbage and telling people things.
Successful people do both, with the same good attitude. (riw)
