Having spent a lot of years as a cyclist and earning a
living in various branches of the bicycle business, I
will be the first to say that a bicycle when you are
not actually riding it is one of the most unwieldy of
devices. Difficult to maneuver, manipulate and store.
When you are riding, however, is when you get the
payoff. So figure out a way to take the tandem and
make sure you and the missus ride it. It'll be fun.
If you think your camper is a conversation starter,
wait until you ride a tandem.
What exactly did you buy? I had an old 5-speed
Schwinn tandem and after that a slightly better old
Gitane, but never a good modern bike.
