I think the point made by Jake was that polyurethane sealant is better
than silicone.
I had used silicone way before (last spring) this particular thread,
to seal my inlets.
He had suggested to me that using polyurethane sealant to seal custom
parts I made/installed in my fresh air/heater housing, was better
than silicone or silicon/latex blend.
Just to be clear..... :)
