Perhaps you should try it - if it doesn't seem to be working out you can
always go ahead and look for housing.
There are certainly a lot of people who are full-timing with dogs. You
might want to check out the fulltimers list
(Vwvanfulltimers@yahoogroups.com), see what people there say about
fulltiming with their dogs.
