This thread came up a while back. I posted a few pictures of the screen
inside the tank. Notice in the last picture you can see the end of the
green hose attached to the screen. It does not extend all the way to the
outlet nipple on the outside of the tank. If it just runs a few inches into
the tank I don't understand the purpose of the screen. Seems like unless it
extends all the way to the outlet, the pump will be just drawing gas from
the bottom of the tank without pulling it through the screen. Has anyone
else looked inside their tank to see if the hose goes all the way? I can't
imagine anyone could have cut the hose because the inside of the tank is
inaccessible, but if this is the factory set up I can't see how the screen
helps.
Thanks,
Mike

"This thread came up a while back" is the understatement of the day !
Thanks for posting the pics of the screen. Maybe now folks will understand what
the problem is ! All the new tanks I have installed do not have this
filter. What can be seen in the new tanks is a metal box like structure dead
centre in the bottom of the tank and no one so far has been able to determine
what's in that box. Hopefully not another screen ! Someone want to sacrifice a
new tank to the sawsall ?
