I think we all agree with Chris that there's no reason to exclude any
vintages of VW vans. I subscribe to all the other lists/groups, so I could
certainly pass the message on. However I am a bit reluctant only because if
I spread the word about an event called Buses By the Depot, it may be
construed that I'm the one putting it together, and it's really Chris' baby.
Chris, if you want me to spread the word I can. Or if anyone else wants to
pass it on...?

I live five minutes away and already spoke to them. Basically the only way
to reserve a campsite (or a block of them) is to either show up with cash or
mail a check. You can call to reserve a site, but unless you mail them a
check they don't actually hold it for you, which kind of defeats the purpose
of being able to call it in. They told me that if we did not reserve sites,
we would probably, but not definitely, be able to find some together. It all
depends on the weather that weekend; they get a lot of last-minute local
drop-ins if the weather is really nice, because county residents only pay $7
for a site (versus $15 for non county residents).
I have a solution for this, since I live right down the road. If you want to
attend, you can Paypal the $15 camping fee to me (at ron@busdepot.com) along
with your name, address, and phone number (since they need this info for the
reservation). Around the beginning of October (which allows a bit of time
for everyone to get their Paypal in), I'll go there and pay for the sites in
cash. Since this will be a couple of weeks in advance, I expect I'll be able
to reserve adjacent sites and maybe have my pick of the best ones. If you
get your Paypal in late, I can still swing by again and reserve your site
separately, hopefully still adjacent if available. And if you decide to show
up at the last minute without a reservation, you'll have to take your
chances on whether there's a nearby site or not. Also, if anyone is planning
on staying more than one night (Friday night or Sunday night) please specify
this and send the extra funds. Otherwise I will assume that you are
reserving for Saturday night.
