Just want to know if I did it right. First, the 2 idiot lights that alway stayed on when I first started the engine, dont stay on anymore-ever. Is this correct? Second, I disconnected the batteries, or tried to, to replace the altenator today.I got sparks when I disconnected the neg terminal of the cranking battery. Sparks when I then disconnected the positive terminal of the cranking battery. Then I got sparks when I disconnected the neg terminal of the auxillery battery. What the heck is up? The new alt. now provides 13.7 volts at the auxillery battery as opposed to 13.25 for the old alt( old alt seems to be recent as it is still rather clean). The new alt, (used with 62K on it) still gives off the " chriping". Chirping when I hit the accelerater for a quickie. Phil Cain says that this may be a leaking intake manifold at the area of the alt.Says to use carb cleaner to check.Sounds good to me, but does anybody know what the deal is with the batterys? Very unusual.Never expected this
.Is there a specia sequence to disconecting batterys when you have duel batterys?Hope Roberts situation has improved today.
