Subject: Sticky Shifting When Warm
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Hi all
got a fairly simple one i think Gotfried the vanagon with now 23k on it has a sticky trans grear shifter or trans not sure. fluid in the trans is at correct level but
when you drive it for a little while it gets sticky in neutral but falls into the gears just fine. ive lubed the gear shift ball and the linkage and the connector to the
trans. but it is still tight when warm if you stop somplace for a quick burger and jump back in then the gear shift is free from side to side (Manual trans by the way)
with no resistance but when warm tightens up again. any suggestions?? i just drove from ann arbor MI to Columbus Ohio for the vw show that went on today
and got home a few hours ago. 84 vanagon was flawless in performance and all just a bit tight on the shifting when warm. c-ya thanks Jonce
