I have to concur with Joy. I was told exactly the same thing by my agent for a similar "trifecta" I've experienced. I have State Farm & live in Iowa. I ended up not claiming the third mishap, even though I was not at fault for any of them.

That's interesting. When I lived in NJ my windshield was broken, and then
my car got hit in a parking lot and needed some body work. My insurance
agent told me that if I claimed for the body work my insurance rates would
go up because I'd had two claims on the policy. Then I left NJ and dropped
the policy, so I don't know if he was telling the truth, but that's what he
said.

:::Sorry Mike
:::But you make my point, one comp claim means NOTHING to the price of your
:::policy. As a group, you are correct, it does affect price. So if you live
:::in
:::a ZIP code that has a high number of claims, your price would go up
:::regardless if you personally file any claims or not. Additionally, the
:::amount of increase would be small vs. the average price of a break-in,
:::assuming that you don't have a $500 deductible. Another example would be
:::if
:::you involved in three accidents, none of which are your fault. Does your
:::rate go up for filing the claims?? No. As a matter of fact, a lot of
:::insurance companies will "waive" your deductible if you are found not at
:::fault. Heck, most of the large carriers have "Direct Repair" shops that
:::will handle all but making the initial call.
