No the tach did not drop all the way to zero it went from 4000 to 3200
or sometimes 2800 but never zero. Ocassionally in the city I would get
stalling. It backfires from time to time (not often but backfiring at
all is bad) and there appears to be an oily residue on the back hatch
and back bumper.
