To Chris, Tim, et al.....
Where & why do you think I've been living in "Ole Putt" since 1999? (6 years
this coming March 1st). My so-called joke of an "average" salary can barely
afford the necesseties (sp?) such as food, gas, a small storage room (at
$200 mo!) and heart meds, much less the niceties of a warm domocile here on
the left coast and I was born here. Living on less than $28K in California
a year is a pain in the butt, no matter who the person may be. The only
thing separating myself and the local (Ventura, CA) homeless on the street
is a relatively cozy Westfalia for myself and boxes/tents for them.
Steve's rig is priced OK for this part of the country and looks rather nice.
But a guy like me can't take advantage of this deal because 1) No place to
keep or work on it; 2)No $$ to do or have the work to be done with it; 3)No
$$ for the additional insurance; 4)No $$ to buy the rig in the first place.
I had to take a personal loan out last year ($4500) for a complete
engine/auto trans overhaul, plus a bunch of other things that needed fixing
on "Ole Putt" and just paid that off recently.
Eric - I really think yer way off-base on this one IMHO.
