Hmm, Warren, I rather think the causality goes the other way. I believe we
should protect the environment, which is why I am disturbed by attempts to
get around the rules - whether by people on this list or by anyone else
including politicians and large corporations (and of course their impact is
much worse than that of anyone on this list). It's also (at least in part)
why I work on environmental issues for a living. It's also why I felt it
was appropriate to divest myself of most of my possessions, why I hope I
won't re-accumulate them when I get stable housing again, why I own a Prius,
and why I have misgivings about the Vanagon because of its lousy gas
mileage. But I don't always practice what I preach, because I'm still
living and traveling in the Vanagon, not my Prius!
And I'm waiting till it's Friday before I hit the "send" button! :-)
