I would agree with a lot of this, except I have had pretty good luck with
some of these, the 2.8 was certainly billed as a unreliable motor, but I did
have 225K S10 with a 2.8 that ran perfect, I sold it to a coworker, and he
used it on his farm for at least another three years until I left town. But
for the most part, people say this was a junky motor, maybe I was lucky. As
far as the 4.3 Goes, this is generally though of as a very good engine. With
lots of power.

GM, originally built the 2.8L V6. Screw it up to the Max. Next they built
the 3.3L, and it worked as a normal 60'est motor, having to be rebult
at 60,000 miles. Then they finally caught up with the rest of the
world and built the 4.3L. FORGET GM.. Nothing BUT JUNK! The only
thing they have in numbers, and money. There engineering is JUNK!
