Hello all, Here's the latest update on my replacement engine saga....
My mechanic got the 1.9L engine installed and low and behold -- its
locked up tighter than a drum so to speak! So now I'm still without
an good engine after going through all of this hassle and most of our
savings accounts.
So if anyone has got a good 2.1L engine available, I'm still needing
one. I really need to get this van back on the road as inexpensively
as possible. I had thought that buying this engine would save me a
bunch of money, however as it is now it's done nothing but cost me a
lot of money that we couldn't afford to waste and I'm not any further
ahead than when I started. I've checked around with the salvage yards
and no one has any Vanagons, let alone 2.1L engines out of an '86 or
newer.
The reason I'm also posting this to the Subaru & engine conversion
lists in case one of you might have a good 2.1L engine for sale. My
apologies if you get this request more than once.
Thanks, Anthony Bailey
