Just wanted to give an update on the procat by
coleman.
The heater is much larger than I imagined. The fan
kicks the heat out and the heater gets hot enough to
toast bread nicely. If you fork the bread it will
toast and the edge will get hard enough so you can
rotate the bread and get an even toasting. I toasted
with the fan off no butter please. Not sure how well
it would work with the fan on. Thicker bread would
work better.
Wonderbread would not work so well.
A bit of information on the bacon. If you use a
coleman stove or the stove in the vanagon you may use
skillets that are slightly undersized for a full strip
of uncooked bacon. These means the bacon is hard to
cook evenly. If you remove the bacon from the freezer
and cut about one fifth of the bacon off, you will
have bacon strips that will fit perfectly into the
undersized skillets, cook evenly into crisp strips and
have 20% less fat. Oh yeah, you can use the left
over one fifth strip for the shrimp skewers.
I am guessing I won't be getting Martha's job. eh
