Ironically enough I had the EXACT same problem and EXACT same cause about
six months ago... Someone (PO) had spliced in a short section of wire
inside the boot between the drivers door and frame. Over time the spice
became corroded and after several months of the window getting slower and
slower it finally stopped. I couldn't figure out "why" the splice had been
done, but regardless I replaced all the corroded wire and then some. Then
covered it all with heat shrink tubing. The window is back to full speed
now :)
Tracing the wiring is not too difficult, but do be aware that power for the
passenger door windows goes form the fuse block, into the drivers door,
through the switch, back out the drivers door, and over to the passenger
side.
