What I would like to see is a Vanagon up higher like those monster trucks.
Then they will go through mud bogs and snow and such. Wouldn't that be a
sight! Then it would really be truly American. The syncro isn't nearly high
enough. Has anyone actually done this? Seems like someone should and then
enter it in a monster truck show.

I think the later models seem to sit lower because of their plastic
bumper covers, side cladding, and air dams. I doubt if they are
actually any lower.

It seems like it. The older ones look as though they have more
clearance.
Better for bumping along down those old fire roads in the
mountains...Hurry
up, Springtime!!

Didn't the later years ('88> ) sit lower than the earlier?
I have an '87 Westy and it definately sits a couple of inches higher
than the later models of Weekender and Westy.
Any source for these springs? Seems like the way to go
to maintain ride quality and factory suspension travel.
