Well the problem seems to be solved...it was a combination of the wrong
ignition coil and a bad temp sensor. I had replaced the ingnition coil
with one for an 86 thinking that would work better with the 2.1 litre
upgrade engine... but the FI is digijet and relies on the igniton coil
in some way. The temp sensor was reading the engine as cold all the
time and consequently the fuel mixture was too rich. I am wondering
about an aftermarket performance ignition coil that will work...the
mechanic mentioned one that should improve performance. Anyone know a
source for these?
Thanks for any advice,
Rick
