For what it's worth, a copy of this email was faxed to Parts Place at
1-248-373-5950. Good luck, Melissa.
Dear Parts Place and Jack Finn,
With reference to the story below, please remove my name from your
mailing list.

Your behavior below is reprehensible. Why not *build* customer
satisfaction by offering Melissa the chance to buy her van back based
on a fair charge for the mechanical repairs??? Do you really think
you're enhancing your reputation by offering to sell the van to her
at market value??? Do you really want the reputation of being a
company that preys on your customer's ignorance??? Do you think your
behavior meets the spirit of the "Satisfaction Guarantee" on page
BC-10 of your 1999/2000 Master Catalog "If for any reason our product
does not meet your expectations, we'll quickly resolve any issue to
your satisfaction through technical assistance, exchanges, credit, or
refund." ???
Unless I hear that Melissa is satisfied with a different outcome, I
will not purchase from you again. (You can check your records to see
that I have purchased more than a nominal amount from you in the
past).
