Subject: Advice on how much my van is worth...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Hello list! I need some help.
I currently own a 90 Vanagon that I am thnking about parting with for safety
reasons. It's just that newer cars these days can stop a lot quicker than
our big vans and when you are behind someone who slams on their brakes it
can get ugly. Anyways I am thinking about selling my van and using the money
towards buying a new car. Please help me out as to how much my van is worth.
90 Vanagon base model with rubber floormats all around. Has seats that face
backward behind front seats.
Engine:
2.1 digifant with some performace modifications including:
custom exhaust: free flow muffler (Magnaflow)
custom intake: aluminum fabricated intake nozzle for AFM, large cone K&N air
filter in original air box section with custom mount
high ratio rockers: 1.25:1 rockers with rhino feet
high performance ignition: Nology ignition wires and power core core
booster, Breu Silverstone S7 silver electrode plugs
note: engine just had heads replaced about 10K miles ago
Drivetrain:
4 sp manual, recently rebuilt, with about 10K miles on it, running mobil 1
synthetic gear oil
Brakes:
both front and rear are almost at half way point
Wheel and Tires:
Ronal alloys, 7 spoke, 16x7.5, had cutom drilled for vanagon
Pirelli P4000 Super Touring P225/55VR16 - these have about 5K left on them
note: this van corners like you wouldn't believe, I can take freeway loop
ramp at 40+ mph, forget about tipping over its history
Paint/Glass:
Van is that white but not quite white color, sort pearl I think. Has some
surface stuff to fix.
Tinted windows: 4% on back windows and 40% on front driver and passenger
(SolarGuard)
Windscreen: Original, has a crack in the middle and it moderately pitted
Body:
Took a blow to the driver side pillar from fallen over tree during rain
storm, minor damage.
Passenger rear bumper a little bent from baking into someone because I
couldn't see them, too low beind rear window
Passenger rear wheel well: scratched up from tire chain that went wrong
Stereo system:
JVC high end tape deck
Preamp/Subwoofer control
4 Polk EX 4 inch speakers
4 Polk DB 6.5 inch speakers
2 Polk DB10 subwoofers
1 MTX 4300 Amp - drives all 8 speakers, 600 watts about
1 MTX 2300 Amp - drives 2 subs, 750 watts
Okay I think that's it! This is a great ride. With the modifications I made
to the engine the van can 95 mph and the midrange/topend is much better than
stock. The wheels and tires totally change the way the van handles. Fuel
economy suffered a little bit with the larger tires, but it still does well
on the highway. Oh I forgot one thing! Right now it has a little over 190K
miles on it.
Any input, any interested, anything, please email me!
Thanks!
